Two posts in quick succession, what’s going on! Almost like we’re on holiday or something…
Anyway, after leaving Hobart, we made our way down to Kettering, the departure point to another one of Lauren’s belly’s favourite places, a ferry dock! This time however, we were off to Bruny Island, a much calmer ferry ride and somewhere we had been recommended multiple times to visit while we were down in the area.

As per usual, we were kind of winging it in terms of where we were going to stay for the evening and decided to basically drive down to the bottom and see what happened. We made it down to a place called Cloudy bay and with some looking at the bare minimum info that no service Google Maps will provide, that there was a campsite at the other end of the beach that we were looking at. We thought that we might as well drive down the beach which was nicely compact as it was a bit late to be messing around with tire pressures! What a great decision, we had found the perfect little campsite, right above a calm protected bay, what a find!
We spent a few days camped in our little spot with a few highlights being Steve’s first fish caught on the trip followed quickly by Steve’s first cut up feet on mussels experience. We also had some very cute friends come by and say hello and politely ask if we had any snacks and a another small mammal being a boy hyped up on likely red cordial in the campsite next door.

After a few days, the weather started to deteriorate and we decided that it was probably time to move on from the Island and for Lauren’s stomach, hopefully avoid a rough ferry crossing. In true Steve and Lauren fashion, we thought it would be rude not to do a combined cheese, wine and beer tasting on the way back up the road, so we did.
We also managed to sneak in a cool little drone shot at ‘The Neck’ which we were very happy about as well!
In case anybody was wondering, the ferry ride back was fine and Lauren managed to do it without even having to take a seasick tablet!
Onto the next adventure!
